Ministry History
Several years ago, God chose a woman by the name of Mary Nancy Reed to fast and pray to bring forth His servants for Higher Love Ministries. Higher Love Ministries was birthed through prayer and guided and directed by the Holy Spirit.
Many days and nights did Mother Reed labor with God's seed and mentor His chosen vessels, Pastors Kennie and Brinda Delt. So that they would step boldly into the calling and vision that the Lord had given them.
Just as the Israelites traveled through the wilderness being refined by the Lord, so to were His chosen vessels, Pastors Kennie and Brinda Delt. Higher Love Ministries began in the home of a member, then the ministry rented out the sanctuary of a Lutheran Church, from there they went to the Beverly Bank and to many other places praising and worshipping the Lord to Hosanna Integrity songs and tracks. Eventually the Lord planted Higher Love Ministries in its current dwelling place, here at 2705 East 83rd Street, so that souls can continue to be healed, delivered and set free and the Word of God could be taught and planted into the hearts of many.
Higher Love Ministries is three separate chapters, in three different places, serving one God. One would think that this would be more than enough "but to whom much is given, much is required". God birthed a radio program, with a title that would soon label our Pastor as "the crack the back of the devil" pastor. With all these duties, God continued to call Pastor Kennie to continue to travel to Cook County Hospital, where he ministered and delivered many, who were bound and sick, all while he traveled to many other churches teaching and performing deliverance.
The road is straight and narrow and sometimes along the way we have slipped and stumbled, but because God has His hands on our Pastors and the members of Higher Love Ministries, eleven years later Higher Love Ministries continues to stand.
How We Got the Name
Higher Love Ministries' name comes from the scripture:
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected; hereby know we that we are in Him.
1 John 2.5
Since the beginning, God has used this body of believers to help people find the abundance of life in Jesus Christ. The primary purpose of Higher Love Ministries is to provide fellowship for men and women who are called into the body and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. In addition, our desire is to be servants to others The members of Higher Love Ministries, its congregations, auxiliaries and outreach ministries meet regularly for the purpose of giving each believer an opportunity to share the calling, vision, and direction that the Lord has given to the church, as well as to provide valuable information for more effective ministry to build people and change lives.
